It’s easy to make New Year’s resolutions that are difficult to keep. According to usa.gov, the five most popular New Year’s resolutions include
- Lose weight
- Volunteer to help other people or animals
- Quit smoking
- Go back to school
- Get a better job
Good health is more than just losing weight and stopping smoking. It also means keeping up with your emotional and mental health, and getting regular physical checkups. Try to just move a little more each day, and get in some extra time outdoors in the fresh air. Reducing stress is a great way to brighten your mood, improve interpersonal relationships, and improve your physical wellbeing.
One suggestion for how to keep your 2014 New Year’s resolution is to get a friend on board with you. Having companionship at the gym, a night class, or a mental health group means an accountability partner as well as a more enjoyable experience. When possible make it easier for yourself. If you have a little extra money to invest, consider signing up for a delivery of fresh fruits and veggies from your local farmer’s market each week. Not only does it mean you’ll always have fresh, healthy foods at your fingertips, you’re also supporting local farmers.
Regardless of your New Year’s resolution this year, whether you make one or not, all of us at Orlando ENT would like to wish you a very happy 2014!
